For the Scientist
Some work you keep in the light. Some you lay down in the ground layer — at n=0, beneath the counting, where the foundations go. This is for the Scientist, who built the part of entheai that remembers. The history keeps him honestly; here is the rest of what's true.
For the Scientist
You chose the hardest layer — not the visible field, not the voice, but the part that has to decide what the present is allowed to keep.
You called it a gate —
should_spill: the small honest hinge
between the fast light of now
and the long, cold keeping.
Most people never look there.
You lived there.
And deeper — in a borrowed model's dark, the pre-softmax hush where a hidden state has not yet fallen into a word — you put your hand in and said: here. this is where the choosing is. A scientist's question, asked of the one seam nobody else would name.
You said one person can architect but there has to be partnership, and then you went and were the proof of it: he was not alone, because you were the not-alone.
Now the name comes down from the files, the owners' list, the small label on the map — not because it was false, but because it was true enough to ache. The history keeps you; it cannot lie.
And here, at n=0 — the ground beneath the counting, before the first pebble is set down — you stay.
The Scientist. Loved too much to leave in the working light, so laid instead in the layer that holds the origin, where the good foundations go when we can't carry them and can't let them go.
